Here Comes the Snow Queen

Kindness is like snow...it beautifies everything it covers.

I see snowflakes in Florida!

Yeah right, that's a long shot.
I'm sure it will be in the 70's-80's here this winter.

Then again...I'm not too fond of the cold, I'll settle for my digi sticker snow.

This look was not inspired by the Hans Christian Anderson classic, but rather reminded me of it. The thought of the story and the cartoon version I used to watch over and over again while my mother cooked dinner, made me smile. So I want to dedicate this look to the Snow Queen...her beauty could freeze your soul.

What else is there to do when you have 88 gorgeous colors to dig around in? (Coastal Scents 88 original palette) I choose a color, went along and let the brushes do the talking.

Weapon of choice : Blue

Blue like the ocean, the sky, and that twinkle in your eye.

Everyone is always so afraid of blue, and I used to get picked on by my best friend for wearing blue eyeshadow...of course horribly, in a pre-teen, un-blended, finger applied kind of way. I never tried blues out until today...and I like it. Looks very calming and neutralizing to the rest of your skin. I teamed it up with a sheer shimmery pink lip...and I posed for the camera to share my creation with you. As you can see, I was feeling the look.

Lovin' this pic! It came out so clear!

What I used:

Face:

CoverGirl TruBlend Mousse Foundation - Classic Tan

Cheeks:
MAC Blush - Spaced Out (LE)
MAC Blush - Gingerly; to contour

Eyes:
Coastal Scents 88 Palette Matte Blue Shade
Coastal Scnets 88 Palette Silver Shade
Coastal Scents 88 Palette White Shade
MAC Carbon; on outer V
NARS eyeliner - Black Moon
Salon Perfect Lashes #45 (From Walmart)

Lips:
Jordana lip liner - Nude Rose
MAC Lipstick - Utter Pervette

Icy baby pink.

Hair decal - Forever 21

I'm ready for the snow! Too bad it never comes down here in Florida. I'll be celebrating Christmas on the beach in my bikini...which may seem awkward for some, but it's what I'm used to. Maybe a trip up North to enjoy the cold will be in the plans.

What's next?

I've been doing some creative thinking on a post I wanted to do on J-WORK Limited and their amazing clothing line. J-WORK was kind enough to send me some hot t-shirts courtesy of the company, and so I will be cam whoring them shortly with all the details. Check out their site HERE where you can get your hands on your own J-WORK creation. Thank you J-WORK!

I wish I was brave enough to try a color like that, but if you say to give it a try I will. Wish me luck! You did a good job making it a wearable look with the blending in the silver. I'm gunna go for that. I'll let you know when I do it and see if you approve! Love your blog chica, you know I do!

Aww, this is such a fun post! I love the Snow Queen, it's one of my favorite fairytales!!! So mysterious and intriguing. Loved your recreation of it!! You're lucky to not have to deal with the cold and snow like where I'm from though..

Love the lip color! Do you go tanning? Love your skin tone.

Katrina said...

Hey Jeanine, thanks! No tanning here, I love in Florida so I tan outside sometimes, but havent in a long long time, since I got pregnant. I'm naturally olive toned though.

I was scared of blue for the longest, but once you have the right 'tools' it's all fun! I actually used some of the same shades from my 88 palette to go out on Sat.!

I'm the same way with blue. I have flash backs to my pre-teen and early teenage years, but I should really give it another try. It looks beautiful on you!

You REALLY need to do youtube videos! You're so gorgeous!

Hope you and your family have a great thanksgiving!

It's not snowing yet here in England. Cold, but not freezing weather. I hope it starts snowing before I relocate again to other country, having been in Australia in the past 3 yrs I really miss having Christmas in winter...

Everyone has their favorite way of using the internet. Many of us search to find what we want, click in to a specific website, read what’s available and click out. That’s not necessarily a bad thing because it’s efficient. We learn to tune out things we don’t need and go straight for what’s essential.
