The best way to learn how to take photographs is to get out there and take them. I assigned myself to a little project titled; Project One-a-Day, in which I would take at least one picture with my camera every day. There is always something you can find to snap snap snap at, and so far...I've skipped a few days here and there, but all in all, I've been doing my homework. I also learned a lot. I finally started to understand a bit of what this whole new world is (photography), and how to make it work for me, rather than the other way around.
Jerrid and I hit the abandoned golf course at a resort by our house and got a run in. Of course Jerrid works out a lot harder than me; he actually breaks a sweat while I'm brushing hair out of my eyes from the wind. I quit half way during Jerrid's workout and looked through the duffle bag out of boredom.
I found a stowaway.
My Nikon made its way to the field with us, so i put er' to use.
[Photos taken using the 18-55mm F3.5-5 kit lens; not my new lens. My new lens (70-200mm F2.8 VR G) is just way too big for me to lug around]

I learned awhile ago that Dasani water (which is made by Coke) has chemical elements that make you more thirsty, thus you need/crave more water. I never buy it because of that. Maybe it's related to your stomach aches.

LOVE your photography skills!!! I don't get stomach ache from dasani but i do get migraines.. i dunno why but its the only bottled water that gives me migraine lol

Thank you all. I still have so much to learn, but Im glad Im making progress! I used the stock lens on this one (the one that came in the box). My new lens is such a hefty thing, it hurts my arm to hold the camera up longer than 2 minutes, so I dont carry it around on me...I dont want to get it damaged as well. Its still alright to learn new things with my old lens. hehe

what settings are using to achieve these looks on the camera, they come out so gorgeous, im barely gettinig use to mine but i still find it quite tricky. Do you photoshop them or is this what you capture??

I also officially feel like an arse for saying you look like Kim Kardashian! LOL! I actually had someone tell me that I looked like Jackie Chan. I look like a 60 year old Chinese man? Awesome. Ha ha ha! But no... I get where you're coming from. My husband gets told all the time that he resembles so-and-so, and it drives him crazy, too. He's like, so I just look like everyone else? :/

I know what you mean! The 70-200mm is HUGE! lol. Oh the back ache! Since you shoot DX, I really loved the 18-200mm for shooting outdoors in daylight. It isn't too bulky, but you still get a great range for shooting. I loved it on my old d200. It doesn't have the super impressive super wide f-stop, but it also doesn't have a super hefty price. I love it for travel because of the range.
